RED SHORE Maximum trail height = 1.2M Minimum trail width is 1/2 of trail height - Red Shore trails are for intermediate riders with previous "shore" riding experience - Red Shore trails are not suitable for "shore virgins" due to an increase of trail height and reduction in trail width - Red Shore trails have increased technicality and higher risk of accident or injury as compared to Blue trails - Red Shore trails are not fully rollable as they have free drops, gap jumps, steep elevations, extreme elevation changes and tighter turns - There are 16 Red trails at Esher Shore, please see below:
Middle Earth Middle Earth is our introductory Red trail, and is fully rollable to help riders get used to the increased trail height Middle Earth starts with an steep gateway up-ramp and flowing , sweeping elevated deck This leads into a high speed 180-degree dirt berm, which if ridden right, provides speed to flow up the next climb The climb takes riders into a 180-degree elevated timber corner, and then a set of deep pump bumps The pump bumps can be taken at full speed to get air off the steep at the end, which can be rolled if going slower...
The trail runs across the middle of the park, and ends with the steep and a big banked corner which blends into Red trail Lower Earth
Lower Earth Lower Earth follows on from Middle Earth, and has been rebuilt with a new natural "dirt" section Lower Earth is also accessed from new trail Earthling, which has a wicked S-berm drop into Lower Earth Middle Earth into Lower Earth provides 600 metres of free flowing trail before ending with a large wallride
The end of Lower Earth has just been changed following very heavy storm weather which damaged the timber steep We are currently re-working the end section as a fully natural dirt line weaving through the trees
Stuntman Stuntman was fully rebuilt during early 2007, starting with a technical entrance shared with Blue trail The Woodpile Stuntman now has a series of pump-able peaks and a small ramp to ramp gap.... ..which sets riders up for a bigger, slightly hipped step-down ramp stunt with a long safety deck The trail finishes with a fast natural dirt section, featuring a great berm and timber up-ramp onto Blue trail The Return Climb
Back Passage One of our quickest trails, Back Passage has been re-routed and rebuilt, and is now accessed from Dirtboxing A technical dirtbox to ramp gap jump leads into a tight banked corner....
...and straight into a big step-down stunt which looks intimidating but works out well Back Passage then has a long dirt section weaving through some trees, to pick up speed for a new booter ramp at the bottom A favourite for photoshoots, Back Passage is great fun for practicing big air moves that require lots of air time...
Stuntgod Stuntgod is a favourite with riders looking to throw down their air tricks and experience our largest gaps The trail has two entrances - a super technical step-down / step-up / deck / free drop off the roll-in tower, and a simple fast pedal-in line Both entrances lead to big dirtbox gap jumps, with the left line slightly hipped for sweet tabletops airs This is followed by a new gap to deck to step-down stunt, which can be ridden slow for tricks or fast for big air Stuntgod has serious flow and air time and is a big favourite with local air bandits!
Rotor Wrecker Some riders spend most of their visit to Esher trying to clean the Rotor Wrecker - its that technical and infuriating ! Rotor Wrecker can be accessed off The Woodpile or by its own entrance gateway next to Stuntman Rotor Wrecker consists of a series of super skinny beams flowing down the hill, with some tight turns and steps If you actually make it down to the bottom, you then have to clear an uphill skinny see-saw leading onto The Return Climb
Stunt Master Stuntmaster is one of most technical red trails and offers a wide variety of stunts to ride in a fast flowing trail Stuntmaster starts with a small step-down gap into our infamous Disconnected Tabletop stunt The trail has now been re-routed to follow the original banked corner, but then shifted into what was the "Drop Decks" trail The new, longer Drop Decks are best taken at high speed as the trail ends with a mellow booter ramp / steep into a long dirt fade Stuntmaster runs out into our big wallride that is shared with Lower Earth and Stuntmaster
Dirtboxing Dirtboxing looks deceptively simple, but provides a real test of speed control and rider nerve Dirtboxing starts with a simple free drop to ramp, before splitting into two dirt-filled box jumps The right dirtbox leads into Stuntmaster, the left into the main Dirtboxing line with a large step-down dirtbox After this, a super tight "s" berm leads into a big blind dirtbox step-down gap jump over a tree stump into a huge landing ramp Just when you think it's all over, you find another dirtbox kicker over a trench gap and then safety as the trail finally runs out...
Skinny Jim Skinny Jim is a super technical, somewhat skinny trail, which starts with a tricky step-up off the ground The trail flows through a series of pump-able peaks before a side huck drops you off the trail into a landing ramp This leads over a ramp-to-ramp gap and through a dirt channel back into the Dirtboxing trail
The Demo The Demo trail has recently been removed, and we are building a new top secret trail in its place The new trail will feature lots of fast berms, pump bumps and kicker ramps, and will run across the middle of the site The new trail will then run all the way down alongside Stuntgod, and finish at the bottom of the park where the Skyline was More news soon....
Pump Dumper Pump Dumper is suitable for advanced riders, and is safeguarded by a tricky hip gap jump off the roll-in tower This leads onto a big elevated deck, with a technical free drop into a compression channel and step-up The step-up places riders on an elevated deck snaking through the trees, with two line choice The right line leads to Gappy Chappy, the left line to the rest of Pump Dumper, a set of steep, pump-able peaks The peaks end with a skinny run-out and small free drop into a downhill dirt section
Gappy Chappy Gappy Chappy is a high speed rush, literally - its the right line choice off Pump Dumper trail Though short, it starts with a drop ramp into a steep elevated trail which boosts you off a timber kicker Always best taken with the brakes off, the kicker gap is surprisingly big, with a great dirt channel landing and run-out
Number Too Number Too is one of our most popular Red trails, starting on the roll-in tower A small ramp-to-ramp gap jump leads onto an elevated deck with a combo drop/steep stunt This runs out into a winding dirt section speeding riders down the hill, before splitting into two line choices The left line is a ramp up onto a skinny ladder with a free drop into a dirt channel The right line is a step-down gap jump over a trench, both line choices run out into the dirt channel and down the hill Number Too has an awesome flow and feels great to ride whatever the weather..
Cheeky Chappy A Sneaky shortcut for riders following each other along The Return Climb Cheeky Chappy provides a more technical experience, and allows you to overtake friends if you are quick ! |
